WHO WE ARE
Community CHAMPS INC., a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, is committed to providing children throughout Southwest Florida the opportunity to participate in organized, structured sports programs at an affordable cost and that will not take up all of your family time. Our goal is to donate 20% of our profits each season to champs in the area that want to play, but financially are not able to. We strive to sponsor as many families as we can who are not able to financially invest in sports in this season of life .
As a nonprofit organization, Community Champs also emphasizes service. During the 5-7 week season, CHAMPS partner together to select an organization to give back to—learning the joy of generosity and community impact.
Our ultimate goal: to connect physical fitness with spiritual growth, empowering participants of all ages to thrive—inside and out.
MISSION STATEMENT
Community C.H.A.M.P.S. is dedicated to nurturing young athletes through safe, structured flag football that emphasizes character, heart, attitude, mindset, positivity, and sportsmanship. We aim to create a supportive environment where every child feels included and empowered.
We strive to develop teamwork, sportsmanship, agility, confidence and leadership skills in elementary- high school aged children while encouraging physical fitness and a strong sense of community. We partner with families, schools, and local organizations to build future champions on and off the field not just in sport, but in HEART
The face behind COMMUNITY CHAMPS: Jerry and Valerie Cook are former collegiate athletes with children of their own and will be hosting you for this 5-7 week season.

CLEAR COMMUNICATION AND CONSISTENT SCHEDULE
Consistency and transparency aren’t just “nice to have” when running a youth sports league...they’re essential, especially for families juggling multiple athletes and raising kids who play more than one sport.
When you’re a parent with more than one child in sports, life can feel like a constant shuffle...different practice times, game locations, schedules overlapping. The last thing any family needs is confusion, last-minute changes, or lack of communication. Consistency creates rhythm. It allows families to plan ahead, reduce stress, and actually enjoy the season instead of constantly reacting to it.
Transparency builds trust. When guardians clearly know the schedule, expectations, costs, and any changes ahead of time, it removes frustration and uncertainty. It shows respect for their time, their commitment, and everything they’re managing behind the scenes.
For multi-sport athletes, this matters even more. These kids are learning how to balance commitments, grow in different environments, and develop a wide range of skills. But they can only thrive when the adults around them are organized and clear. A consistent schedule and transparent communication allow them to show up fully—without feeling like they’re always behind or missing something.
At the end of the day, we’re not just running a league—we’re serving families. And families need structure they can count on and communication they can trust. When we get that right, it changes the entire experience. Parents feel at peace. Kids play freely. And the season becomes something everyone can truly enjoy.
Community Champs Inc. hosts three 5-7 week seasons each year. WINTER, SPRING/SUMMER and FALL. We open registration for the Spring/Summer Season at the end of January. We open the Fall and Winter Registrations at the end of May/beginning of June. All dates, times and locations are given to families UP FRONT. NOTHING is "arbitrary".

"Children need more than a system; they need a village.
Families experiencing foster care often feel tired and alone. Most caregivers foster for less than a year, citing burnout and lack of support. At the same time, 85 percent of people who are not foster parents say they care about vulnerable children and want to help.
Foster Village bridges this gap between those experiencing foster care and those who want to help, meeting practical needs and providing holistic support beyond the system.
